Attack Rolls Like a saving throw, there is always a chance that a melee or missile attack can fail. No matter what the attackerÆs THAC0, an attack roll of 1 is always a miss. In addition, a characterÆs THAC0 advancement is limitedùprofessional skills and training only extend a creatureÆs natural talents so far. Warriors, naturally, can improve THAC0 the most. Table 39 shows THAC0 limits for all four character groups. Monsters have no THAC0 limits.
